As TikTok Shop becomes a major player in e-commerce, it's also become a hotspot for TikTok Shop counterfeit products, unauthorised resellers, and cheap dupes. For brands, this surge in visibility can come with a cost: loss of revenue, brand dilution, and frustrated customers unknowingly buying fakes.
Worse still, most infringing listings aren’t obvious counterfeits. They often reuse your brand’s photography, product descriptions, and even videos—creating the illusion of a genuine, authorised seller. These listings are designed to mislead customers and intercept your sales while delivering lower-quality products that damage your reputation.
If you're a brand owner, here's how to take back control and remove infringing listings from TikTok Shop.
How to Spot Infringing Listings
The first step is identifying which listings are infringing your rights. These may be products that misuse your brand name, logo, or product titles, or they could be unauthorised listings using your photos, videos, and descriptions. In many cases, sellers may even falsely claim to be official stockists of your products, offering fakes at lower prices to undercut you. This is a classic case of TikTok Shop IP infringement and must be dealt with promptly to protect your brand integrity.
What Evidence to Collect
Once you've identified problematic listings, gather as much evidence as possible. This includes direct links to the listings, screenshots showing the infringement, and proof that you own the intellectual property being used—such as trademark registration certificates or original image files. The more clearly you can demonstrate your ownership, the more likely TikTok is to act quickly in line with its TikTok Shop brand protection policies.
How to Report an Infringement
You can submit a takedown request via TikTok Shop’s Intellectual Property Protection Center:
This platform allows you to file complaints under trademark or copyright. After logging in, you'll be asked to describe the infringement, upload supporting documents, and confirm the accuracy of your claim. TikTok typically responds within as little as 2 hours, but can take up to 24. However results can vary based on volume and clarity of evidence.
1.) Once you have created yourself an account you will need to register your IP with the platform. This can be done by clicking on the IP Management tab on the left hand menu, then onto 'Upload IPR Documents' and selecting the type of IP you would like to submit. Each piece of IP with need to be submitted separately.

2.) Once your have submitted your individual pieces of IP TikTok will review your submissions and either accept them or reject them. If your submission is rejected, make the change requested by TikTok and resubmit.
3.) Once your IP is granted you are ready to submit your complaint. Navigate to the 'Complaint Management' tab on the left hand menu. Here you can search TikTok shop for any Trademark or Image matches by entering keywords or uploading images. However both of these searches are still very patchy so you may need to be creative in your keyword search in order to gain results.

When logging a complaint you will need to provide proof that you own the IP material (even if you have submitted this in your initial IP registering.) If submitting a copyright or trademark claim, screen shots of the copied image/your trademark on your website works well here.
4.) Once your have submitted your request TikTok will get back to you quite promptly, sometimes within a couple of hours. If your request is rejected for some reason it may be the material you have attached as proof that may be the problem. Review and tweak your request and resubmit.
Why Manual Takedowns Aren’t Enough
This manual reporting process works—at first. But for many brands, the volume of infringement quickly becomes overwhelming. Counterfeiters use bots to generate dozens or even hundreds of new listings per day, often cloning your entire product page with stolen imagery, fake branding, and lookalike pricing. They set up shop, sell fast, and disappear—only to reappear under a new account hours later. It’s a fast-moving ecosystem designed to outpace manual enforcement.
That’s why we built IP Moat. Unlike TikTok's manual reporting system, IP Moat automates the enforcement process. It continuously scans for TikTok Shop IP infringement, using AI to flag listings that copy your images, text, or keywords. It can cluster related infringing sellers, generate takedown requests, and monitor repeat offenders—giving your team full visibility and control. With IP Moat, remove infringing listings from TikTok Shop becomes a scalable, proactive process.
Take Back Control
